Zain Group achieves top climate score in CDP Climate Change 2025
Zain Group has been recognised with a leading ‘A’ score in the 2025 CDP Climate Change disclosure cycle, placing it among the top 12 percent of global telecom companies evaluated. The accolade reflects strong climate governance, transparent reporting, and a clear pathway toward achieving net zero emissions by 2050, with efforts spanning governance, risk management and decarbonisation plans.

Telefónica also ranked highly by CDP
Telefonica was recognised for its transparency and commitment to the sustainability, having achieved a 52% reduction in all its global emissions, including the value chain. Addressing Scope 3 challenges is by far the most challenging aspect of telco decarbonisation. The Green Telco Project sees Telefonica’s Climate Action Plan as one of the lighthouse initiatives in the industry, with clear measurable progress being made in 2025. SoftBank outlines net zero ambitions with greener RAN approach in Japan
SoftBank Corp confirmed plans to pursue net zero emissions across its entire supply chain by 2050. To support this target the Japanese operator is deploying hybrid solar and wind generation at base stations and is adopting AI tools to enhance energy efficiency in its radio access networks.
